The Williamsport Community Band was established in 1997. For over 25 years, the band has provided free concerts to the Williamsport and surrounding community and grants a yearly scholarship to a local student in pursuit of a music education. Through the support of its members, sponsors, and patrons, the band is able to bring music to the community each year.
The Band provides free arts and culture to the community in many ways throughout the year by performing:
a Spring Concert featuring classical and contemporary works for concert band.
live patriotic music for the yearly flag retirement ceremony at the Williamsport Redmen Tribe.
a July 4th Concert under the fireworks at the Byron Park in Williamsport.
a Holiday Concert for shoppers in the Valley Mall.
a Christmas Concert in Williamsport partnering with Toys for Tots.
The Williamsport Community Band is an incorporated, 501(c)3 non profit organization that depends on the support from its community, sponsors, members, and patrons to help purchase and maintain music, instruments, concert attire, and other equipment. Your charitable gifts represent many ways in which the band can serve the community.
